As I was reading this morning’s devotion on how Jesus cleansed the temple in Matthew 21:12-13.
Jesus went into the temple and threw out all those buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. He said to them, “It is written, my house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves!”
It made me stop and think about our hearts and bodies. In 1st Corinthians 6:19-20, it says,
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
This Monday of Holy Week, let’s take some time to ask God to cleanse our temple. To help us see what is hindering our walk with Him and remove it from our lives so that we can walk closer with Him.
