God is Faithful

Sometimes the road in front of you looks full of obstacles, or you don’t know how to move forward. Life can be challenging, especially when you try to figure it out on your own. I have been stuck in that “What now?” mentality. The answer is simple, even though, my friend, I know it is easier to type it than live it. The answer is to trust God’s love for you to help you through each step ahead of you.

Remembering God’s Presence

I want to share how God has reminded me to do this over the past several weeks. Through Bible studies, songs, and sermons, he has reminded me that while it is important not to get stuck in our past looking at our mistakes, it is vital that we look back at how God has worked in our life.

The old testament is a great place to show how to do that. Several times in scripture, it talks about taking physical stones as a remembrance of God’s blessings in your life.

Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it upright between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, explaining, “The Lord has helped us to this point.” ~1 Samuel 7:12 CSB

So Joshua summoned the twelve men he had selected from the Israelites, one man for each tribe, and said to them, “Go across to the ark of the Lord your God in the middle of the Jordan. Each of you lift a stone onto his shoulder, one for each of the Israelite tribes so that this will be a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ you should tell them, ‘The water of the Jordan was cut off in front of the ark of the Lord’s covenant. When it crossed the Jordan, the Jordan’s water was cut off.’ Therefore these stones will always be a memorial for the Israelites.” ~ Joshua 4:4-7 CSB

In both verses, God intervened in a way they felt needed to be remembered. God’s handiwork can be seen in our lives in the same ways if we look for it. Sometimes it may be crystal clear, sometimes you don’t recognize it while it is happening, but when you look back, you realize, “Oh, that was God.” Either way, it is essential to remember those times. Those times will help you make it through what you are facing now.

Hope for the Future

As you move forward, remember that God is faithful and will be there every step of the way. We must intentionally seek Him by spending time in His word and through prayer.

Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart He will make your paths straight

Jeremiah 29:11-14 ~  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Waiting on Him

God’s love for us is evident throughout scripture and our lives. He only wants the best for us. As we wait on answers, remember His timing is perfect even when it doesn’t make sense.

*A new song came out recently that I wanted to share with you. It is by Cain, “Yes He Can!”
