Looking to the Light

God has laid a word on my heart that He wants me to spend some time with. So for the next several posts I will be focusing on Light and how He is our Light in this world. He has shared so much with me that I am still trying to figure out what to write on next. Here is the first part of this series. This is my first series, so I am a little nervous and excited at the same time.

Guiding Light

Have you ever been lost in the dark? It is a scary feeling. Your heart starts to race as your pupils dilate to take in as much light as possible. You search for a glimmer of light to help you see your way through. That is how life can feel so often. We get lost on our path, and we forget to seek God’s light, and we stumble and fall. We feel trapped and lost, like we are drifting. However, we have a light that can pierce the darkness surrounding us.

It is a light that will shine on every aspect of our life. It will help us see which areas need to be changed; it will light the path in front of us. We need to accept that light into our life. That can be scary for some. Maybe there is a part of your life that you don’t want a light to shine on. You are embarrassed or ashamed of what the light will reveal. Friend, let me tell you the Good news. God already sees it, and through His death on the cross, He forgives you.

He wants you to accept Him so that He can shine that light on every aspect of your life. His light is a warm hug that will give you Hope in the middle of your darkest moments, that will help guide you through life’s most challenging decisions. All you have to do is trust Him to be your Guiding Light. Accept Him and Let His Light shine through you.

Maybe you have accepted Him already but have gotten lost in the dark. He is waiting to welcome you back; confess that you lost your way and need His light to help you find your way home. He is waiting with open arms.
