Tonight I drove with tears streaming down my face crying out to Jesus for Help. I found myself sitting in front of my church, wishing I could go in. I felt drawn to it, for I know that God is truly in that place. As I sat in the parking lot wishing I could go in, I heard a whisper saying it isn’t about a place; it’s about His Presence. You see, God was sitting there with me in that car. Sometimes in this world, we feel so alone and scared, even helpless at times. We don’t know which way to turn. Friend, can I remind you that we are never alone. Jesus is always with us. He knows the pain, suffering, and heartache that we wish would stop; He has been there. When you can’t stand, rely on God’s strength. He is there wiping the tears, holding us through the pain.
Here are some of the promises of scriptures that I hold onto to help me know that Jesus is near:
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Isaiah 41:10, God says to “fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Hebrews 4:16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
If you find yourself tonight crying out to Jesus, no matter the cause, hold on tight to these promises, Jesus will be with us in our time of need. He will hold us in His arms until we can walk again. Seek Him and feel His Presence. He is right there beside you, waiting to comfort you.
Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
