Do you ever wonder how heartbroken the disciples felt that Saturday? Their Lord, friend, and teacher, was gone. He was brutally beaten and murdered. Darkness surrounded them. They had heard His message and some parts of them were hopeful still. However, the horror of what they witnessed made them doubt and wonder if Jesus was truly going to come back.
In a world full of tragedies and heartbreak many of us have been stuck in that Silent Saturday. We scream out to Jesus but we hear silence in return. This is where our faith is tested because we can’t see Him working just as the disciples couldn’t. However, we must hold to His teachings. His word states that He hears His children’s voices. He is still working even in the silence.
Psalms 30:5 states, “Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”
Saturday was full of sadness, shock, and silence but Sunday was coming! As we go through life and face the darkness and silent nights, may we remember that our Heavenly Father is always close to us. His love is steadfast and permanent and nothing will separate us from Him.
John 16:33 states, In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Death has no hold on our Savior nor on us!! Hallelujah, He Lives so we can face tomorrow!!
