Today’s devotion was good, I had to share what God laid on my heart after reading it.
“May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.”2 Thessalonians 3:5.
This verse is essential for our prayer life. Sometimes the Lord will bring people to our minds out of the blue. I have always felt that was His urgent call to pray for that person. There is an old saying that if you say a person’s name by accident, that person must be thinking about you. What if, instead, that is God prompting you to pray for that person. We need to use those prompts to say a prayer for them. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer. There are so many verses in the Bible that we could pray back to God for that person.
When we don’t know what to pray, we need to remember this verse Romans (8:26-27) Paul states: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
So today, as we go about our daily routines, may we listen earnestly for God’s prompting and call to prayer for our nation, friends, and family.
