I started reading a devotional on the names of Jesus. Alpha and Omega was the first one. In the devotional, it talked about the eternity aspect of it, how God has always been and will always be.
Revelation 22:13 ESV states, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
I started thinking about it personally though and it is such a comforting thought to me. God created me in my mother’s womb, was with me when I took my first breath, will be with me when I take my last breath on earth, and then forever with me in Heaven.
That means nothing that I face on this earth will ever fall out of his range of purview. We may feel overwhelmed by the circumstances we face but God isn’t surprised. He knows exactly what we need and when we need it.
Recently, I have had so much going on that I just feel overwhelmed. I go to sleep at night wondering why I have to face these battles without someone by my side. That is when God reminds me that I am not alone and I never will be. While it is good to have someone by your side it becomes too easy to depend solely on that person. They are there to support you and help you through everything you face but your rock should be in one person alone, and that is God. He is the one that will stand the test of time, that has your best interest on His mind at all times. God gives us helpers and he sends them in many forms, parents, siblings, spouses, children, and friends. However, we are all human and will let each other down from time to time, God will never let us down.
Next time you feel all alone remember that God is always there waiting for you to reach out to Him. When you are too weak to walk, let him carry you until you find your strength in Him. He is the Alpha and Omega of the universe and your life.
