Depression, anger, bitterness, brokenness, and feelings of worthlessness or shame can shackle you to the past and make it hard to move forward. Hearing the song Break Every Chain tonight painted such an essential picture in my mind.
Imagine standing or kneeling in front of Jesus, asking for his help, and one by one, He calls out the name of the chain that is binding you, and it snaps at his voice. God’s love is that powerful.
Psalm 107:14 says, “He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains.”
We must remember whose Child we are. God created us in His image for His purpose.
Psalms 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.
Don’t allow your past or your feelings to come between you and God’s purpose. He sees your heart and is waiting for you. Let Him break those chains and help you move forward on the path he has set for you. You are loved and a Child of the one true King. Seek Him, and let him set you free tonight.
