Trusting God in Foggy Conditions

Have you ever been driving early in the morning or late at night and it is so foggy that you can’t see two feet in front of you and have to sit up on the steering wheel just to ensure you don’t hit anything? Most of us can relate to this. Life can be that way at times; we have so much going on that the path ahead is unclear. We are trying to see it but no matter how hard we look the future and how it will work out isn’t visible to us. I am learning over and over that is God telling me to relax and trust Him. He has it all under control. Over and over God tells us to not be anxious and to trust.

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:24

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” ~ Isaiah 41:10

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ~ Joshua 1:9

So why do we continue to fall into the trap of being afraid and worrying? Simply put we lose our focus. We become problem-focused instead of Christ-focused. We want the problem to be solved quickly and in a way that we have planned out. However, a lot of times that is not how God works. Every situation is one that can draw us closer to God or pull us away. We must be diligent in letting it help us lean towards Him trusting that the path ahead will one day be clear. He promises that He will never leave nor forsake us.

When the road gets foggy or unclear slowdown, take your time, seek God and listen to what He tells you to do. He will show you the way. God has a beautiful path for us to follow that leads straight to Him.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
